Banner Peak is about five miles from Mount Lyell, in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Definitely one of the most picturesque mountains in the Sierra Nevada range, especially when combined with Thousand Island lake in the foreground. There is actually a taller peak in this image: Mount Ritter shows just to the left of Banner. This shot was taken in late August, with lows in the 20s and highs in the 50s.
